HOLA! QUE’ PASA?( HELLO, WHAT’ S HAPPENING?)
If you have been reading [ WM ] for a while you may remember our [ MA ] Musicos Adoradores section of the magazine where we offered the main cover story and a few other articles in the Spanish language for our Latin worship friends. We actually published three full magazines in Spanish before COVID hit and we had to scale back. Check out an issue here.
Now we are working on bringing a full [ MA ] Musicos Adoradores magazine back. We will start out as a quarterly publication. A lot goes into publishing a magazine in a language that you can speak. But my Spanish language skills however are sorely lacking. I have been looking for a good partner that knows the Latin worship community well and has the skill set to help us with some of the different facets that make a good publication.
First, you need good editorial content. Well, we have a lot of that right here in the English versions of [ WM ] to simply translate. Next, we do want to add in feature articles on well-known
Latin worship leaders. Folks that Latin worship teams want to learn from. That is a process that our new partner can help us work through.
What else makes a good magazine? Advertising is an important aspect. Advertisers not only help pay the expenses a magazine incurs in production, but also lets our readers know about what new music is coming out, new gear( guitars, audio mixers, mics, keyboards etc.). A well-informed reader will make better choices in the products and services that they use. Better choices is also better stewardship of the funds they use.
The third leg of the stool here besides good editorial and ads is distribution. With [ WM ] our Distributor Collective is made up of several companies that have served the worship music community for years. We have Worship Together, MultiTracks, OnSong, Loop Community, CCLI and Sunday Sounds who help us email you your monthly issue of [ WM ] Worship Musician. Some of those companies
have Latin customers and we will work with them on distribution. We also have worked with well-known Latin worship artists before who have sent [ MA ] Musicos Adoradores to their large lists of Latin worship music folks. Christine D’ Clario and Evan Craft were very gracious to us in the past. It is time to reach out to them, and others like them, and see if they can help us get the word out.
We have a partner in Korea who is publishing [ WM ] monthly and doing a good job of it too. So hopefully soon we will have English, Korean and Spanish covered. Wow! God gets the glory for each one of those! Our writers and featured worship artists all share good content to help you grow as worship leaders, worship band members and tech teams- to all become # BetterBySunday!
