What is the best car on the road today? Depends on a lot of variables, doesn’ t it? The best one for me? The one with the best mileage? Highest top speed? Largest towing capacity? The coolest looking? Most reliable? Or maybe the one that averages the highest of all of those factors? Needless to say, we’ d likely struggle to find a single answer that would satisfy everyone’ s idea on what we meant by‘ best’, right?
As many frequent readers of the‘ Audio with Jeff Hawley’ column know, I’ m working my way through a degree in philosophy. A lot of what we do as philosophers is ask more questions in the pursuit of answers. Look at that opening paragraph again for an example of this method in action. Yep, an entire paragraph of nothing but questions. This month’ s article will borrow a bit of that sort of‘ keep asking questions’ approach in our effort to answer a more relevant question than the top automobile— What is the best console for my church?
