A few things before we start here .
1 ). They named REVV as a company based off Revelation chapter 5 ( you gotta like that ) but it is pronounced Revv , like rev it up .
2 ). This Canadian company is not only bright at marketing ( at the NAMM Show they give away their REVV branded hats and shirts and you see people wearing them all four days of the convention ) but they are really supportive of what we do as a magazine . On top of that they are nice guys …
The REVV booth at NAMM was a guitar picks throw away from our booth . I walked by it several times and they were always crowded with guitarists trying their amps and pedals . The worship guitar players like this D25 Dynamis amp and REVV also makes a Generator line of amps for hard music . Between the two styles they attract from , their booth was packed .
The goal of this new Dynamis D25 is to deliver the ultimate single-channel clean amplifier experience . Upgrades from their popular D20 amp include 5 more watts of power for more headroom , plus a digital reverb and a switchable gain boost ( foot switch included ).
Now enter our friends from Two-Notes , they play a role with the added reactive load and impulse response XLR-out for dynamic direct performances as you have a virtual cabinet selector . You can load in your own , but it comes with a pre-loaded variety ( everything from a 1 x 12 ” to a 4 x 12 ” speaker cabinet ).
You have a choice between sending your sound through the robust Celestion Vintage 30 speaker or directly via XLR . This amp is pedal board friendly ( buffered rear-panel effects loop ) and did I say it has real tubes ? Yes , dual 12AX7 ’ s for the preamp , and dual 6V6 power tubes for that classic low-medium gain . Wow ! It just seems like REVV has coupled together the best of tube warmth with modern IR cab SIMS features . The tones are studio-quality clean , or you can dial up that edge-of-breakup tone as well . I turned up the amp and loved the variety of tones .
Another feature is an output level for your headphone jack ( that also is for your XLR outs in the back of the amp to go to FOH or DAW for recording ).
