It never fails : every Sunday starts with chaos as something unforeseen breaks or fails to boot or demands an update . After a frantic hour of putting things right , the tech team can finally focus on the details of the event such as programming the channels , libraries and snapshots and dialing in the lyrics and lighting cues . However , in the rush to set right all that is wrong , we often forget to celebrate the fact things have worked out for the good . Somehow , someway , tech is put in order and the service proceeds unhindered . Instead of focusing on the hassle and errancy , it is wise to celebrate each win . Here ’ s how .
First , acknowledge our inherent dependency on fallible technology . Before the advent of audio and video systems , public meeting spaces relied on proper acoustic room design and excellent line of sight to deliver the sound and imagery needed for communication . Since the only way to convey content was through unassisted means , presenters used vocal projection within acoustically favorable rooms to be heard .
