[ Tauren ] Well , All God ’ s Children was certainly a passion project . I was trying to find a way to come alongside some of the issues that we ’ re facing in our culture , and human trafficking has been cited as one of the greatest evils that exists in the world today . And this was really brought to my attention years ago as a high school student reading a book about it , and it was something , though , that in my mind was happening in the far away corners of the world where I couldn ’ t possibly reach . And so , although I knew it existed , I didn ’ t think there was really that much that I could do about it .
Then my wife brought it up probably two years ago and it was a thing that she was consistently talking about and feeling like we needed to do something about . And I was just thinking , “ Man , this problem is so big .” There are 40 million men , women , and children who are being trafficked . What they ’ re being forced to do can go from forced labor to sexually explicit content , and it can be children as young as babies to people who are much older . And it ’ s just a devastating reality that it ’ s hard to wrap your mind around . So if I can ’ t quite wrap my mind around it , how do I wrap my hands around it and actually do something about it ?
So I was praying about how I could step in , and I saw a post from my friend , Tim Tebow , and I saw that he was really accelerating his involvement in this , so I called him to see what we could do , and he suggested writing a song . So I got with some friends , and we got on a FaceTime with Tim , and he just poured his heart out to us while we were in the studio , and some amazing conversations came out of it , and I think a really amazing song that has helped bring awareness to this issue and has raised money for the Tim Tebow Foundation who are actively boots on the ground , in the trenches rescuing people from these dire circumstances .
[ WM ] Well done ! Excellent ! Changing subjects here … I love the promotional imaging for your new project , Joy in the Morning - bacon and eggs , hash browns and toast . What a great way to position the project as something everyone enjoys , joy in the morning ! What say you about the project overall ? I ’ ll ask you about some of the individual songs next .
[ Tauren ] Yeah . Well , that was a brilliant idea from my marketing team to do these giveaways , and one of them , since it is joy in the morning , there ’ s nothing better in the morning than a full breakfast . So , we ’ re doing some giveaways to get people breakfast , but yeah , I ’ m so excited about this particular body of work . I was telling my wife last night , even if this garners no critical acclaim , I am just so grateful to have been a part of this project , and I ’ m so proud of the execution of it from the songwriting to the production , the creative around it , the visuals , the design . It is just all beautiful art in my opinion , and it ’ s not just beautiful . It ’ s meaningful . And these songs in this collection of songs mean a lot to me . I think this is the album that is definitely the most me that I ’ ve ever written .
