These songs are about that divide spanned on our behalf , and I pray that they are subversive and healing in their insistence of that reality ”. The words you chose , subversive and healing , are both interesting here . Unpack some of that for us ?
[ Crowder ] Well , I think that was just tagging on to what I was attributing to the Gaither ' s there . I think for me making this album during a year like 2020 … when there was so much that was heightened , us separated from one another etc .
And at the same time , culturally trying to navigate what it means … that could look like a people who believe differently than each other … and see ways forward differently . We all want progress and we want to have a better place on planet Earth carved out for humanity . But the way we get there still is ‘ conflicted ’ ( to mess with another word for a bit ).
But I like words and how they make us feel and think differently at times . And the word ‘ harmony ’ as I was mentioning with Bill Gaither - that ' s a musical term . We sure needed some harmony as well as unison . That ' s that unity and harmony aspect , and I felt like it makes the music make sense .
When people say , “ It ' s a universal song … the beauty of them are recognized universally ”. I feel like there ' s a universal truth to that . And when
