problems .
We were using my buddy Scott Waldrop ’ s guitar rig for the test . Scott plays at First Baptist Westlake , LA where I used to be worship pastor and now my son , Sam , holds that position . I asked Scott to share his perspective , “ I had done a good bit of research into pairing the DISO + with my Strymon Iridium before testing the unit . I felt like it would help my signal , but my optimism was measured , after all , it ' s a line isolator . Can it really effect the sound that much ? After putting the DISO + at the end of my chain , I immediately realized the benefit . Front of house reduced my head amp by 35 + db with the Pinstripe DISO +, but the sound was clearer and fuller than ever before . That doesn ' t even factor in the options I ' ll have with the Iridium by running stereo IRs . Whatever initial doubts I had about this unit are completely eliminated . My IEMs and FOH have never been better !”
Some technical specs … The Pinstripe DISO + is made with a cast aluminum housing cut by CNC machine and is powder-coated with some sweet UV printed graphics ( the graphics take me back to when I used to watch Speed Racer as a kid ). The switches are from Grayhill , XLR outs are metal-housing , Neutrik , and the line input transformers are Jensen . The ¼ ” outs can be summed with the flick of a Grayhill and there is a $ 50 upgrade mod to add an additional summing switch to the XLR outs . These ¼ ” outputs also allow you to add a powered monitor ( s ) on a stage or for rehearsal ( where there is no PA maybe ) or to bypass the modeler and use a regular guitar amp without having to re-patch the board . With the XLR outputs , the DISO + keeps the signal at line level similar to what would come out of the XLRs on " full size " modelers like the Helix and Kemper .
