left to right and back again. Pretty cool.
I started sampling patches right off the bat, and a wave of analog goodness just sweeps over you.“ Partial Heaven” is one patch that stuck with me- mixing analog flute-like tones with an arpeggiating bell sound that keeps sequencing the longer you hold the note down. The I found“ Polyphonic Power.” Huge sounding patch. It was so big I had to turn down my amp I was playing through. Great for a more anthem worship tune. Next one up that caught my ear was“ Bloomers”. A synthy piano blended with an analog strings. Nice to use for pads but still be able to carry the melody.
When you change patches all the settings in each of the tone generating sections and editing sections change – the red lights either stay lit, turn off or flash. Editing on the fly is simple. You can tweak a knob( 42 of them), push a button( 123 or so) or push up or down sliders( 16). All of your LFO’ s, Oscillators, Filters, Envelopes, Arpeggiator, Sequencer and Patch settings are all in easy reach. Of course, you will want to practice and experiment with all these opportunities for sound design on your own. But if you are like me – you will most likely find your favorites sounds in the onboard patches, possibly edit them some( or a lot) and then rename them and save those customized patches of yours to the synth. This is way cool.
There are so many parameters at first – don’ t let that throw you. There are so many different patches to hear. Some sound like you can use them this Sunday and some sound like a space movie from the 60s. Don’ t let that throw you. They are some great meat and potatoes patches that will become part of your playing repertoire. Especially the warmest pads with so much( or as little) movement as you want.
The last thing I want to say here in my part is that Aftertouch is simply the best tool for expressing yourself. Like everything on this Moog Muse you can set a parameter around it … but Aftertouch itself is a worthy feature adding expression to your parts.
Moog is an iconic brand for a reason … this wraps my portion of the gear review. Please read further to hear more about those features I briefly mentioned and more.
Moog Muse is a winner.

Sweetwater’ s deeper presentation( I couldn’ t have written it any better than these folks).
DUTIFUL DUAL-OSCILLATOR DESIGN IN FAITHFUL ANALOG FASHION The Muse’ s rich, moldable sound prospects originate in the form of two traditional voltagecontrolled oscillators, each governed by adjustable triangle / sawtooth and variable pulse wave controls. Exploration through the use of Octave, Frequency, Wave Mix, FM Routing, and Hard Sync knobs caters to all tonal possibilities, from tight, simple squares to composite textural blends. Moreover, the Muse’ s built-in mixer ups the ante with independent level control over both oscillators, the modulation oscillator, and additional Noise and Ring Mod controls— multiplying harmonic opportunities tenfold. Care to go all-original? Bypassing the Muse’ s digital delay promises a 100 % pure analog signal path, showcasing your creations with full instrumental authenticity.
IDOLIZING MASTERFUL MOOG MODULATION In addition to its dual onboard LFOs, the Moog Muse’ s dedicated voltage-controlled modulation oscillator engine supplies an entirely new plane of experimental routing potential that’ s capable of manipulating pitch, envelopes, random generation, and much more. The per-voice, per-patch, and sound-shaping
