how I feel about it, which it’ s just got the right set of features, but it still maintains the vintage look. And I said,“ But I do think there’ s a handful of people out there who just won’ t buy a gold guitar.”
[ WM ] That’ s right.
[ Linc ] And I said, I think for that reason alone, it’ s worth doing. He said,“ Okay.” And so that’ s why we did it. I still like the gold one better. It is just I feel at home with it. But yeah, it worked out great. People responded really well to the Olympic White. It’ s a super pretty guitar. And so usually when I tour now, I take one of each.
[ WM ] There are very few people that have had their name on a Fender Signature Stratocaster. I think it’ s a great honor.
[ Linc ] It is. And what’ s neat is it doesn’ t get old. I’ ve got more ideas, things that I would love to do. It does take a while though. I want to say from the inception of a new guitar model for them, it’ s about three years until it hits the street.
[ WM ] You mentioned touring. What’ s your tour schedule these days?
[ Linc ] I’ ve been just doing my own dates and honestly, it’ s been pretty light. I do a bit more at Christmas. The COVID season hit everybody differently, but I think it almost without fail did a reset of some sort for everybody. Whether it’ s just life philosophy perspective on whatever, maybe I’ m going to do something different. And I think for me, I toured pretty stinkin’ hard from the West coast, which is harder because almost every date requires flying. To go do one day somewhere, it’ s three days away. You fly out, stay the night, get up, play the concert, stay the night, and then all-day fly back. And I think it just wore me out.
I was obviously busy with church and a young family and touring and making records … I was pretty smoked. So it was really funny. I told somebody before COVID hit, I was like,“ Gosh,
