going to learn this and you’ re going to love it!” And I’ m like,“ No, where is my other desk?!” I had a whole month of really just fighting my bias against changing to anything else. Probably by month two I was thinking,“ This dLive thing is actually awesome!” I really love whoever designed that desk. The UI of it. I just really love it. It makes sense. If I wanted to use it as like a routing desk, for Waves and / or for outboard, it makes sense. It is so user friendly and I stuck with it for sure. Still my go-to and on my rider as the desk for me.
I had a few reels just kind of blow up. Just very practical things like“ this is what reverb I’ m using” or“ this is how I’ m doing this basic thing on the dLive.” And it was crazy to see that first one of the early reels had like 500,000 views just for like sharing my reverb settings. I saw there was something here and it’ s speaking to a certain type of front house mixer that’ s very hungry to learn. That’ s what I’ m all about.
In a nutshell, that’ s really it and where I’ m at right now, it’ s just continuing that journey. I’ ve partnered up with some awesome guys and we formed an organization called Black Box, which is with Lee Fields, Steven Shepherd and Brad Brammer. My videos are all over social, too. That’ s me!

Then COVID hit and I had started getting brought in to do a lot of live recordings in the house of worship space, and so I was producing a lot of those through that time. We made it out of COVID and I knew I had a lot of information at that point to share, specifically in my experience in a house of worship. I just knew I had learned a lot of what the modern sound was and what people were expecting in the genre and I thought I’ ll just start recording myself and doing some videos. The videos were mostly for me at that point, a total hobby.“ Oh, this is cool. I just geek out over this effect or that EQ all day!”
I didn’ t think there’ d be that big of an audience— it’ s niche church live front of house mixing. But
