HOW DO I FIND NEW WORSHIP SONGS ?
As publisher of [ WM ] Worship Musician magazine since its founding over 20 years ago , I have received information regarding new worship music from several different sources .
I used to get full album CDs in the mail all the time from PR folks in the Christian music industry . They work for the various record labels and their role is to keep the press informed and through relationships to ask for editorial coverage . These days I get emailed links to singles , EP ’ s and sometimes full albums . You can listen to them on several different streaming services , but to tell you the truth , I usually just go to YouTube and watch the lyric video or the new “ live ” worship video when it goes live there . That is a good way to get to know the lyrics too .
Our regular record reviewer Gerod Bass does a good job finding good new worship music , so I learn from his writings each month . Gerod is on a three-month Sabbatical at the moment but another regular columnist of ours - Mitch
Bohannon – is filling in while Gerod is getting some much-deserved rest from his Worship Arts Pastor role and Mitch is bringing us good new music to consider . Living south of Seattle , WA surprisingly , we have an abundance of Christian radio . There are four stations that I get in my car when driving around . The main one I listen to is Worship 24 / 7 . You can also find them on the internet . Speaking of internet radio , I just discovered Worship Road Radio . They have quite a lot to offer and even have a good mix of music genres . Oldies worship being one of them .

I can ’ t mention oldies worship without commenting on the fact that many mornings around the house my wife Judy plays Maranatha worship music .
Our Distributor Collective partners for the
magazine … Worship Together , MultiTracks , OnSong , CCLI , Loop Community and Sunday Sounds all do a good job presenting new worship music and resources for your entire worship team too . I get news from them . Be sure to sign up for their email lists .
Another way I find music I haven ’ t heard before is from my own church services – either by playing bass for the worship team ( that way I must learn the song ) or by participating in the congregational music .
If you come across some good new worship music that you like , or that your home church is producing , please send me a link …
Thank you for being willing to be good new music scouts for us !
