SOUND CHECK
THE RETURN OF WORSHIP CONFERENCES
They are back ! It has been quite the struggle the last few years for worship training conferences . Many have shut down for a year or two , some limped through . Others went the “ virtual ” route with mixed results . To be honest – it has been a mess for a good bit of time .
But now there seems to be a shift back to “ live events ” and hope arises !
Worship Together ’ s recent conference was a success . FILO ’ s too – they had a large crowd of techies . Bethel ’ s School of Worship is happening while I write this . In this July issue , you ’ ll see ads for the Experience Conference , the Worship Innovator ’ s Conference , as well as our own conference – the Christian Musician Summit to be held in November .
Each state ’ s Covid policy has one way or another impacted these valuable type of training events for your entire team . Here in
Washington state , we had to shut down for two years . We were told that our attendees would need to stand twelve feet apart and that we were a “ super-spreader ” gathering because we sing . Really ? Twelve feet apart ? We are turning the lights back on for this November here in Tacoma , WA and it will be great to see our old and new friends alike show up for an opportunity for “ improving skill ; inspiring talent ”. The Lord has blessed each one of our 36 conferences over the years ( in five different states even ) from large ones to smaller gatherings .
I have attended several other worship conferences besides our own and each time I walk away with something new . There is just something about gathering together in-person to learn from the presenters , each other and of course the Lord . I believe you ( and your teammates ) benefit when you commit to attending a conference to get better at what you do and to celebrate with others the good
things of the Lord .
I can testify to seeing lives touched , healed , and reenergized . I have seen folks who walked in tired and discouraged , walk out refreshed and ready to continue the battle .
Who gets the glory in this ? The Lord does . All of it . Every bit !
So , if you are feeling ready , I would encourage you to get up out of your chair and head for a worship conference this year . I always say , “ Half of life is showing up to see what the Lord has for you , but you have to show up !”
I hope to meet you at a conference this year – let ’ s grow together !
God is good !
