The Line 6 Helix Stadium is revolutionizing the world of guitar multi-effects pedals with its cutting-edge Agoura amp modeling technology and impressive features. As a next-gen modeler, the Helix Stadium roars with improved realism and workflow, making it an ideal option for touring professionals and gear enthusiasts. I actually had the privilege of getting it months before it came out and created presets for Line 6. They will be out and included on an upcoming firmware update. I fell in love with
the Agoura amps that are featured in it. In this article I want to go into detail talking about this new awesome multi-effects processor
AGOURA AMP MODELING: THE HEART OF THE HELIX STADIUM The Agoura engine is the backbone of the Helix Stadium, offering expanded modeling depth and greater realism. This new core DSP platform provides smoother breakup transitions and more organic sustain, making it feel like you’ re playing a real tube amp. The Agoura models are incredibly responsive, with improved touch sensitivity and near-zero latency. With 16 new guitar amp models and six new bass amp models, you’ ll have access to a wide range of iconic tones. I remember back in 2015 I was touring non-stop and had to invest in a digital rig so I made the call and got a Helix. I was worried at first, but then I figured out a way to get my sound with the digital amps available in the Helix. Now while playing these new amps, I can definitely feel the upgrade.
UPGRADES FROM THE PREVIOUS HELIX So, what’ s new compared to the original Helix? For starters, the Helix Stadium features an
8-inch multi-touch screen, making it easier to edit and manage presets on the fly. The new touchscreen UI is intuitive and responsive, allowing you to drag, tap, and tweak your rigs with ease. Additionally, the Helix Stadium has improved I / O specs, including dual XLR outs, MIDI I / O, USB-C, AES / EBU, S / PDIF, and four stereo FX loops. While I was editing and creating my presets, I found that the new touch screen was very easy to work with. I was able to get my sound very fast and experiment with new stuff with ease. As soon as I started playing this unit I could feel that upgrade from the previous version.
SHOWCASE AUTOMATION AND PLAYBACK ENGINE The Helix Stadium also introduces the Showcase automation and playback engine, allowing you to control your entire stage setup easily. With automated preset and snapshot recall, looper functions, and MIDI remote control, you’ ll be able to focus on playing rather than tweaking gear.
I’ m looking forward to taking the Stadium on tour and rocking out with it. It’ s also so much lighter and smaller than the previous Helix so
