A year ago, we reviewed the initial release of We Must Respond. Bethel Music recently released a Deluxe version that captures a reflective and pastoral moment, offering songs that lean less on soaring anthems and more on intentional response to God’ s presence. Even though large in scope, the project feels personal and imitate at the same time with a number of songs designed to create times of intimacy in worship between the listener and a God who loves them.
Musically, the album carries Bethel’ s familiar atmospheric sound: layered pads, gentle builds, and spacious arrangements that invite participation rather than performance. The production is polished but restrained, allowing lyrics and moments of silence to carry weight. This restraint works in the album’ s favor, especially for listeners seeking worship music that fosters prayer and reflection rather than constant intensity. It is a refreshing difference and proves that the writers of Bethel want to go deeper with their craft and the church is better for it.
Lyrically, We Must Respond centers on themes of holiness, surrender, and transformation. The title itself frames the album’ s purpose— encounter with God is not meant to be passive. Songs consistently return to the idea that worship is not complete until it shapes how we live, love, and follow Jesus. This theological focus gives the album cohesion and depth, making it especially suitable for personal devotion or extended worship settings.
While some listeners may find the album less immediately memorable than other Bethel releases, its strength lies in its intentionality. We Must Respond is not background worship music; it asks something of the listener. It calls for attention, stillness, and ultimately action. In a worship culture often focused on emotional peaks, this album stands as a gentle but firm reminder that encountering God leads to change.
Overall, We Must Respond is a thoughtful and spiritually grounded offering from Bethel Music. It may not produce the next widely sung anthem, but it succeeds in guiding worshipers toward a deeper, more obedient response to God’ s presence— a goal that feels both timely and necessary.

KING’ S KALEIDOSCOPE Asaph’ s Arrows II EP
3. Lamb Of God
4. It Is Well 5. Amazing Grace 6. There Is a Higher Throne 7. This Is My Father’ s World
Asaph’ s Arrows II marks a compelling and heartfelt chapter in Kings Kaleidoscope’ s journey, a return to the foundation of what originally shaped the band’ s identity— reimagined hymns delivered with artistic sensitivity and spiritual depth. The sevensong collection showcases the Seattle-based collective’ s ability to bridge the timeless truths of classic hymnody with their signature orchestral and alternative worship sound.
From the outset, Asaph’ s Arrows II feels like a humble yet bold artistic statement. Kings Kaleidoscope has always existed at the intersection of worship and innovation, and here they lean into both gracefully. The decision to center the project around well-loved hymns— from“ Amazing Grace” to“ It Is Well”— pays homage to the rich history of Christian music while giving listeners something fresh and emotionally resonant to hold onto in a noisy world.
