Furch guitars is a family-owned business located in the Czech Republic that is continuing to push the boundaries and innovations of acoustic guitars . I have spent a lot of time with Furch instruments over the years and I ’ m a big fan of their 9-string models . For review Worship Musician tested out the recently released Blue Performance DC EM . Instead of using numbers or names to differentiate their lines Furch has done it by color name .
A number of things stand out when you are first playing this guitar . First of which are the six slots on the upper side of the body facing you . Furch calls this the Booster Soundport which is designed to provide sound directly to the player while strumming it . Other unique features include the Bevel Duo on the Furch referring to a top arm bevel on the front and a back body bevel where your torso connects with the guitar . The company has also placed more emphasis and voicing into their CNR System neck joint which contains a dualaction truss rod encased in rigid carbon with a wood expansion block . This would mean that the Furch Blue Performance DC EM acoustic would never need an expensive neck reset and the appropriate action can be achieved through adjustment of the CNR system .
Another visually appealing element to the guitar are the side linear position markers on the fretboard which increase in length as you go toward the headstock . The top of the Blue Performance DC EM is solid Englemann spruce , and you can select African mahogany
