BOSS is celebrating their 50 th anniversary . They ’ ve come a long way since 1973 and their first Guitar synth in 1977 . They ’ ve outdone themselves with the new GM-800 Guitar Synth Pedal . Seamless tracking and the 1,200 sound ZEN-Core library , including classics like Jupitor-8 , Juno-106 , Fantom , Roland Drum machines , and more . It has a big Graphic LCD Screen that ’ s bright , easy to read , and user-friendly . Here ’ s my review and takeaway .
OUT OF THE BOX : The GM-800 comes with its own Power Supply and user manual . The pedal layout is very organized and logical . On Top is a big , beautiful LCD screen , with four Select Knobs below . Left of the screen is the Output Knob and four LED switches for assigning up to four Tone Parts at once , along with a separate Rhythm switch . On the right side of the screen is the Select Knob . Beneath that are the Exit , Write , Menu , and Page left / right buttons . At the bottom are four-foot switches labeled Scene Up & Down and Control 1 and 2 , each with colored LED indicators . On the back are ¼ inch GK TRS in and out , R / Mono Out , and L / Phones . Two Expression / Control jacks that are assignable . There ’ s a USB-B for your Computer and a USB-A for a Memory Stick . Also , there is MIDI DIN In and Out and a Roland PS10 power Jack input .
