The Inception has a longer sustain than most acoustics so you can really hold on to those chords and notes and let them decay naturally .
Plugged into an amplifier the mid frequencies and high were also more dominant than most Martin guitars . The notes and chords are very articulate with added sustain but not as much bass as you experience from the mainline of Martin instruments . This would also make the GPCE Inception the perfect foil for Praise Team leaders and singer / songwriters who prefer an acoustic that doesn ’ t compete with their vocal frequencies . This guitar would also fit nicely in the mix and not clash with other instruments in the band .
Playing the Inception acoustic / electric guitar feels natural like the guitar has already been broken in . This could be because of the Satin finish or the choice of tonewoods , but it feels played in . The Black Walnut fretboard almost has a three-dimensional look to it while you are looking down at it and playing . It was simple to tweak the best tones with the LR Baggs electronics too .
The Martin GPCE Inception Maple Acoustic / Electric guitar also includes a top-of-the-line form fit molded hardshell case . The Inception will appeal to players that aren ’ t usually Martin fans and to players that are predominantly electric guitar players .
The only stumbling block on the Inception is that it is listed at $ 3,999 which is a big investment for many musicians . Is it worth it ? Only your ears and hands can be the judge . Playability , sonically and visually I would put this up against many acoustic guitars in this same price range . And the Inception has wood and features that other Martins and other brands do not . Bravo to Martin for pushing the envelope with the Inception . Everyone will be talking about this new acoustic guitar entry , so be sure to get your hands on one to try it out for yourself !
