EDITOR ’ S NOTE : Brooke Ligertwood asked me if she could interview me for Issue 1 of her Eight newspaper . What ? I was honored and humbled at the same time . I respect Brooke for her personal and musical integrity . As I spent time with her on a Zoom call she reminded me of talking with Darlene Zschech . You realize you are speaking with a wonderful woman of God ! How could I say no ? With Brooke ’ s permission I wanted to republish the interview here in our own pages of [ WM ] Worship Musician for you to read . Many of you may not know much of my own personal story … this may fill in some gaps . ~
I was recently interviewed for [ WM ] Worship Musician magazine by the Editor and Founder , Bruce Adolph , about Eight . It was going swimmingly , however as our conversation progressed , I became quickly aware that I should be asking him the questions . Increasingly piqued by the things Bruce would share along the way that gave me glimpses into his personal story . I wanted to know more . Bruce kindly agreed to allow me to turn the tables and interview him . And this is the result – I hope it inspires you as it has me ! Anyone can have a shining “ moment ”, but I ’ m always more captivated by those who live a faithful , steadfast life – those who have endured , prevailed , and kept their hearts soft and turned towards the Lord – they are the people I want to learn from and celebrate .
[ Eight ] Bruce , you have worn many hats over the years , including managing a music store , being a concert promoter and having been a magazine publisher now for over 25 years . Tell me about your journey ?
[ Bruce ] I started promoting concerts back in the 80 ’ s when Christian metal bands were surfacing in Southern California . The young
