Bryan was the guitarist that I prayed with to be an influence in the music industry . At Track , Bryan worked with many major artists that led to working for a few years at Capitol Records . During that time a producer named Dave Jerden was looking for an engineer . Long story short , he hired Bryan and they worked together on major records for Alice in Chains , The Offspring , Social Distortion and many more . When Dave would be mixing those records , that gave Bryan time to produce records for bands on Tooth and Nail like Stavesacre , Project 86 and Training for Utopia . Going back to praying to be an influence in the music industry , through Bryan many of the artists he worked with came to the Lord like Gonzo from Armored Saint , Dan Spitz of Anthrax , and even Dave Jerden himself . Dave was as far from God as you can get in the music industry , so it was incredible to watch Dave Jerden meet and share his story of surrendering to Jesus with David Ruis while I was working on David ’ s live record When Justice Shines .

So , over the years , Bryan was a huge mentor and friend who I learned a lot from . During all my years at Line 6 I was mixing a lot at night with my good friend , George Bellias . He was a major editor for many companies like AEG Live . Many times , the audio was not mixed and I got the call to mix several bands like Evanescence , Def Leppard , Maroon 5 , The Who and more for AEG , Palladia , MSN etc . I also would mix a lot of independent bands and more projects with Bobby Hartry during this time . I would say no to a lot of mix work over the years , but in 2012 I started saying no to major producers and thought it was time to go full-time mixing .
I moved into Bryan Carlstrom ’ s studio in Burbank , CA . It was an amazing eight months . We would work with bands to have them spend most of their budget recording through our great analog gear and then I would mix in a smaller hybrid rig for less than it would cost to mix on our SSL E-Series . At this time , I did a lot of projects with Dwayne Larring . My favorite was mixing a couple of the songs that Dwayne produced and recorded for Audio Adrenaline ’ s

He suffered a major heart attack and [ Rich ] While mixing full time I needed to figure went home to the Lord in January 2013 . I knew out medical insurance and I went looking for we could not keep an SSL room going without a part-time artist relations or some other type a producer of his caliber . I moved my hybrid mix of part-time gig in the musical instruments studio to my house and kept on mixing full time industry to supplement my mixing career . for about another year and a half .
