HILLSONG These Same Skies
WE ARE MESSENGERS Wholehearted sin and death and serves as a resounding song of confidence in what Jesus has done and still is doing among us . The bridge brings the main point of the song to the forefront as Benjamin Hastings proudly proclaims ; “ You still do miracles , you will do what you say . You ’ re the same God now as you ’ ve always been ”

It has been more than three years since we heard a collection of new material from Hillsong . Their latest release , These Same Skies features eleven new songs recorded entirely stateside in Orange County , California . The thematic heartbeat of this collection is focused around the idea that no matter how far separated we might feel from God or one-another because of our current situation , Christ ’ s church still exists and His power and love for us has never been greater than it is today .
“ That ’ s the Power ” explores the infinite power of Jesus that is exemplified by His victory over
Using various verses from scripture about how our bodies are God ' s temple , “ Resurrender ” was co-written and is led by Brooke Ligertwood . This moving anthem reminds us that we were hand-picked by the creator of the universe to be carriers of the greatest story ever told while boldly asking God to make us holy by the power of His spirit .
Worship legend Reuben Morgan puts his stamp on two tracks here first with the anthemic “ Freedom ” which is a celebrative prayer of gratefulness to our God for His grace and mercy and “ Hope of the Ages ” is a hope laden song of Easter victory .
Joel Houston ’ s “ All To Him ” is as vertical as it gets as the instrumentation is stripped way back to just a piano and vocal duet as we hear about how Jesus took every shame and pain upon himself on the cross .
This is a classic Hillsong album packed with memorable melodies , anthemic chorus ’ and songs that are sure to be favorited by Sunday morning pew sitters far and wide .

Wholehearted , is what I would call a “ big , heavy |
record ”. I say this not because there are twelve |
new tracks with 5 more included on the “ plus ” |
version of the collection but because of the |
depth and personal experience of the writing |
contained within this project . |
We Are Messengers ( or WAM ) have always |
been kind of a “ Rend Collective light ” with their |
left of center approach to modern worship |
music using their rock Irish roots , unique |
instrumental style and in-your-face lyrics . WAM |
is not worried about whether or not they are |
tiptoeing the church political correctness line |
when it comes to writing engaging worship |
