With over twenty new updates , Cubase 11 is full of innovative new features .
OUT OF THE BOX : For new purchases or upgrades , there are several Apps you need to download . The Steinberg Download Assistant will guide you to the Steinberg Library Manager , eLicenser Control Center , and Cubase 11 and extra content . You will also need a USB eLicensor key . If you are curious after reading this , you can also download Cubase Elements for free and without the USB eLicenser Dongle . I don ’ t blame them for protecting their hard-earned products .
IN USE : I was excited to check out Cubase Pro 11 after hearing about the new features . Since I ’ ve got a USB eLicenser key , I just needed to update the Download Assistant App to start . After adding the access code , the rest was simple . I just “ guesstimated ” over 30 GB of content for HALion , Groove Agent , Padshop , Retrologue , etc .
Note : If you have one , an external SSD for all the sounds and content can be helpful . Starting Cubase Pro11 the first time took a while since it noticed all the plug-ins that I don ' t have licenses for . I love plug-in updates . It ’ s nice to be able to try the new plugins , but sometimes I only want to see the ones I already own . Fortunately , Cubase remembers and opened right up the second time without a hitch .
WHAT ” S NEW : There are a ton of new things in this version . Cubase has gone to another level .
I ’ ll start with Cubase Frequency 2 . It now has precision dynamic EQ combining compression within EQ bands . There are Eight Frequency band ranges with side chains for each one . They allow for a more defined mix by automatically making room for transient material assigned to the sidechain that temporarily dominate your
