ROUNDWOUND VS . FLATWOUND BASS STRINGS : WHICH SHOULD YOU CHOOSE ? | Adam Nitti
In this lesson , I want to dive into a fundamental yet sometimes overlooked factor in a bassist ’ s sound — string choice . Specifically , we ’ ll explore the differences between roundwound and flatwound strings and how they impact tone , feel , and playability .
Just as the specific bass guitar you play will have a fundamental influence on your sound , the type of strings you use on your bass significantly affects your tone and subsequently the way your bass sits in the mix .
