“ Shine Like Stars ” reminds us of all the ways we can respond to this love of Christ by announcing and demonstrating His love to those around us and taking advantage of every opportunity to be Jesus to others . This track features some great guitar work , compelling lyrics and is probably the best track on the album .

It ’ s been a minute since we heard new worship material from Passion since they haven ’ t released a full-length album since 2020 . The new year brings a new EP from the collective powerhouse entitled Burn Bright which contains five new tracks revolving around the theme of how Jesus ’ love and forgiveness gives us new life .
The first two tracks , “ New Thing ” and “ What He ’ s Done ” both hit this thematic target well pointing the listener to the fact that every blessing comes from Jesus because of His great love for us .
“ Beautiful Jesus ” is a soft pop vertical worship anthem sung beautifully by worship leader , Chidima . The combination of her velvety soprano and the powerful driving drums and 80 ’ s keyboards gives this song of praise depth and honesty .
“ My Eyes Have Seen ” wraps up the little EP as Chidima once again takes the vocal lead and powerfully proclaims the power and majesty of Jesus through His creation .
While I wouldn ’ t call this collection the best I have ever heard from Passion , it was nice to be reminded that they are still around and writing some good songs . Lyrically , this album was a bit of a disappointment , as it seems like they reverted back a bit to using too many cookiecutter Christian cliché ’ s instead of really digging into scripture and trying to bring these truths out in a more creative way like we know they can .
That being said , there are still a few nice offerings here that your church might just love singing .

It ’ s no secret that is reviewer is a huge Paul Baloche fan . I have had the pleasure of meeting “ The Godfather of modern worship ” more than once and even got to pick him up from the airport a few times for the Christian Musician Summit conferences . Paul is the author of some of the most loved worship classics of all time including ; “ Hosanna ( Praise is Rising )”, “ Open the Eyes Of My Heart ”, “ The Same Love ” and many others . The album that has had the biggest impact on me personally and professionally is his 2006 release , A Greater Song .
