Lauren Daigle and band was having great success playing both Christian tours and mainstream festivals before the pandemic shut all touring down worldwide . This reminds me of over 30 years ago when Amy Grant crossed over and was having success in both sides of the music aisle . Amy had a special gift of being a very sincere and authentic person and artist . What is it like working with Lauren and seeing the same level of success come her way ?
[ Dwayne ] Lauren is great ! We have known each other for about 8 years or so . We met before she had a record deal or anyone had really heard of her . She connected with Paul Mabury and they made her first record How Can It Be and she just took off . She toured that album for a few years and I didn ’ t really see her until the beginning of the Look Up Child album process . I had been working with Paul and Jason Ingram on a bunch of albums which led right into that album . During that process Paul decided he needed to go out and put together

a band for her and they asked if I would join them . Needless to say , it has been quite the ride the last couple years . We knew the album was special but had no idea it would be received like it has been . Over a million albums sold and a record-breaking # 1 song for over two years and sold out venues all over the world . Crazy .
It was really cool seeing songs about faith and life being embraced by the world at large . Playing a song like “ You Say ” on Dancing With The Stars Finale and all the late night shows as well as playing all the huge pop festivals like Lollapalloza and ACL in Austin . We were out there playing songs about Jesus and then being followed on stage by The Killers , Childish Gambino , Counting Crows and countless others was crazy . Looking out and seeing tens of thousands of people sing these songs at the top of their lungs and in tears in a setting like that was truly an incredible thing . God has really used that project to touch millions of people .
[ WM ] I know you think highly of your band mates with Lauren . Tell us about this stellar band ?
[ Dwayne ] The band has grown quite a bit over the two years or so . We started with a fivepiece band and three background singers and then added three horns and a percussionist . To compare it to a traveling circus wouldn ’ t be too far from the truth ! ( laughing )
They truly are special people who have become a tight knit family and they are some of the most accomplished and talented people in the music
