PATRICK MAYBERRY Live In My Living Room
LEANN ALBRECHT Higher and Higher evident than on track four , “ The Fire ” which is a robust song of praise declaring Jesus as the fire that overcomes every fear and darkness in our lives . Mayberry reminds us confidently that our current struggle is not the end of our story and that we are invited to have a seat at the table of life .

Passionate about seeing people connect with the heart of God through music and corporate worship , singer / songwriter Patrick Mayberry first fell in love with worship music at a Passion Conference in 2006 . Signed to Centricity Publishing as a writer since 2018 , the Cookeville , TN native has penned songs recorded by North Point Worship , David Leonard , Mack Brock , and others . Mayberry , his wife Jenny , and their four children recently relocated from Chicago to Franklin , TN , where he now remotely serves as Executive Producer of Worship for Chicago ’ s Soul City Church .
Live In My Living Room is Mayberry ’ s third recording and features seven new songs whose central focus rests in the hope we find in the light of Christ which shines even in the darkest valleys . Nowhere is this theme more
Shouts of joyful praise abound on the opening song , “ The Best Is Yet To Come ”. Here , Mayberry begins with a driving acoustic guitar and kick drum as the energy ramps up in this anthem about the hope that we have in Jesus . Patrick sings with reckless abandon about how our God is still working on earth and His plan is not yet complete . Slick lyrics and a hookladen chorus make this song one of the best on the album .
“ Rest ” is a catchy mid-tempo ballad that is cleverly written with plenty of hooks both in the verses and chorus . The upright piano and rhythmic acoustic guitar give this track warmth and feeling as Mayberry sings about the rest we can receive from our God when we are weary and all seems lost . I really loved here how lyrically he points out that forgiveness is a vital part of spiritual restoration .
Every song on this album is well written , masterfully produced and presented . Live In My Living Room is a great album and I am surprised I haven ’ t heard more about Mayberry because he has a lot of offer the church in the way of congregationally friendly music . I am looking forward to hearing more from this newcomer .
1 . All This and More 2 . He ’ s a Good God 3 . Yahweh 4 . In Him 5 . Taste and See 6 . Higher and Higher
Leann Albrecht is the co-pastor of “ The Well ” in Nashville alongside her husband , Carl who served as Paul Baloche ’ s drummer for many years and is [ WM ]’ s resident drum columnist . She has been leading worship , writing music and performing for close to 30 years with the likes of Michael W . Smith , Amy Grant and Steven Curtis Chapman . Her seventh worship recording , Higher and Higher is a live worship recording featuring six new songs of praise .
“ All This and More ” is a purely heaven directed worship offering taken from Psalm 104 that features some wonderful piano riffs and a creative chord structure harkening me back the early 90 ’ s worship of Darlene Zschech and Hillsong . “ He ’ s a Good God ” follows and is reminiscent of the late Rich Mullins ’ “ Awesome God ”. The song begins with a spontaneous worship section before Leanne ’ s commanding alto leads in the congregation with southern rock vibe as she confidently sings about the many ways God brings His people out of
