changing my acoustic strings, but I secretly like them dead sounding anyways.
Guitar Strings Electric: D’ Addario NYXL1149
Brand of Capo: My dad gave me a Kyser when I was first learning guitar and I’ ve never looked back. It doesn’ t get any easier( Thanks, Dad).
Brand / Type Guitar Pick: Herdim 113. I had a friend give me one of these when I was first learning to play guitar( as I was The Edge’ s biggest fan) and it is a large part of my tone. I now also play any pick sideways … pros and cons to everything.
What piece of gear would you like next, or you are interested in? I’ d love a big‘ ol dreadnought. Or the new Gretsch Falcon Center Block. Or anything that Jack White touches. It’ s a fun time for gear.
Favorite worship guitar performance in a song: Here Now( Madness) – Of Dirt and Grace – This album as a whole is life changing and as a guitarist it doesn’ t get much better for a‘ live’ context.
A current worship album you are enjoying: Mitch Wong – It Needs To Be Said. Love Mitch. Love this album. Tasty musicianship.
Some advice for your fellow worship guitar players: Always serve the melody! Regardless of how fun a part is to play or how beautiful the tone is if it doesn’ t serve the melody, it’ s not adding to the song. Usually the answer is way simpler than I want it to be. A good practice of restraint.
