The Fender Vintera II lineup of instruments is Fender ’ s next generation of the Vintera series with 50 ’ s , 60 ’ s and 70 ’ s guitars and basses from the past in an affordable package . The Vintera II series includes these guitars ‘ 50 ’ s Nocaster , 70 ’ s Competition Mustang , 70 ’ s Jaguar , ‘ 50 ’ s , ‘ 60 ’ s & 70 ’ s Stratocasters , ‘ 60 ’ s Tele , ‘ 50 ’ s Jazzmaster and the ‘ 60 ’ s Telecaster Thinline .
For the bass enthusiasts Fender has brought back the ‘ 70 ’ s Competition Mustang Bass , ‘ 60 ’ s Bass VI , ‘ 50 ’ s & ‘ 60 ’ s Precision Bass , ‘ 60 ’ s Jazz Bass and the 70 ’ s Telecaster Bass .
For review [ WM ] Worship Musician tested out the ‘ 60 ’ s Telecaster Thinline guitar since we thought it would fit Praise team needs . The first thing we noticed about this model when it arrived at our offices was how lightweight the guitar feels . The neck radius , at 7.25 ”, feels like some of the Japan recreated Fender guitars from the ‘ 80 ’ s and ‘ 90 ’ s .
The Vintera II Thinline Tele is available in three color sunburst finish or black finish as tested . Although the body has a poly finish and the neck is gloss Urethane , neither of them felt sticky at all . The neck plays extremely fast with no dead spots all the way up to the cutaway . Definitely one of my favorite features , compared to some vintage and past reissue Thinlines , is the neck isn ’ t too chunky so you don ’ t feel the hand fatigue that you can from larger diameter necks . The mid-60 ’ s single-coil pickups aren ’ t as treble prone as the ‘ 50 ’ s telecaster pickups either . You can still achieve chicken pickin ’ country style guitar licks with the bridge pickup , but the front pickup is a bit warmer and less shrill than some Teles . Thanks to the Semi- Hollow ash body the guitar resonates even when not plugged in , perfect for quiet around the house practice . Plugged in to an amplifier the Vintera II Tele Thinline worked great with a bit of distortion and overdrive and didn ’ t get muddy with Delay or Chorus . My only personal concerns on this guitar are that adjusting the
