NATALIE GRANT Seasons
REND COLLECTIVE Hallelujah Anyway 1 . In Christ Alone 2 . You Will Be Found 3 . Shackles ( Praise You ) 4 . We Will Stand 5 . My Tribute ( To God Be The Glory ) 6 . Step By Step 7 . I Need You 8 . Another Time , Another Place 9 . Bridge Over Troubled Water 10 . Make You Feel My Love
Long time worship artist , Natalie Grant definitely belongs on the Mount Rushmore of legendary CCM artists right alongside Amy Grant , Michael W . Smith , Steven Curtis Chapman , Ce Ce Winans and others . Her career spans close to three decades and she has won six dove awards and has been nominated for a Grammy award eight times . Although she is probably known more as a performance artist her latest ten song studio album , Seasons is a wonderful mix of new and reimagined songs for the church .
The album features such prominent worship giants as CeCe Winans , Jonathan McReynolds , Tauren Wells , Tasha Cobbs Leonard , Jekalyn Carr , CAIN , and Cory Asbury to name a few .
Some of the standout cuts include the lead
track , Brian Littrell ’ s “ In Christ Alone ” in which Natalie showcases her top-notch vocal techniques and really gives this classic song new sparkle and energy . Sandi Patty ’ s # 1 single “ Another Time , Another Place ” ( a song I actually sang at my high school graduation ) gets a powerful overhaul with Jonathan McReynolds ’ contribution that brings a spirited renewal to this gorgeous anthem .
“ We Will Stand ” features CAIN , Jekalyn Carr , and Tauren Wells and has a strong southern Gospel vibe as we are reminded that no matter where we come from , what color our skin is or our background , together we are the body of Christ and we need to stand together in the Lord .
“ I Need You ” gives the listener a vulnerable look at Grant ’ s own heart and her relationship with her Lord while “ You Will Be Found ,” one of the three originals , is prime for Sunday morning worship .
There are some very powerful moments and great writing on this collection from Natalie Grant . The mix of genres , different generations of writers , performers and song structure kept the album flowing from the first track to the last note . The whole album is held together strongly by Grant ’ s unmatched vocals . Young and old will enjoy these songs .
1 . Hallelujah Anyway 2 . Homesick 3 . Beggars To Kings 4 . Let it Roll 5 . Hallelujah Anyway - Live Version
Northern Irish rockers , Rend Collective are at it again with their celebratory , footstomping brand of joy-filled worship with their latest five song EP , Hallelujah Anyway . One thing you can always count on with a Rend Collective album is that it will be chock full of infectious , authentic songs of praise that are cleverly written and delivered with joyful expression and this EP is no different .
The title track is classic Rend Collective with its raucous musical energy as Chris Lewellen boldly implores listeners to give God glory even when life doesn ’ t go the way we think it should . I love the lyrical theme running through this song which points us to the fact that hard things in life remind us of just how much we need Jesus as our Savior .
“ Homesick ” follows with more of an almost house techno / rock vibe with a funky bass line and big keyboards . Lyrically , the song is about how sometimes we all need to go
