Shure PSM900 ’ s for our front-line musicians and vocals , Allen & Heath ME1 personal mixers for our back-line musicians , wedge monitors for the choir , and for our blended service we have a small orchestra on in-ears . I created the orchestra system with one ME1 mixer ( this could easily be an AUX output from the board ) feeding two Mackie HM-800 8-channel headphone amplifiers . Like the back-line musicians , the orchestra members do not move , so I am able to run headphone extensions from the HM-800 ’ s to each chair . Sharing an IEM mix is no different than sharing a wedge monitor . Everyone listens to the same thing . This is helpful for us so that the orchestra receives the click and cues for each song . I was able to give 16 orchestra members an inear monitor mix for a total of about $ 500 . Just as a side-note , I have a couple of orchestra members who wanted to be wireless , so they bought their own XVIVE U4 system and have it connected to their channels from the HM-800 . and easy way to add click with an iPad or iPhone . There are multiple ways to run left / right audio channels out of your tablet or phone .

You could send one monitor mix to an eight-channel headphone amp like my HM-800 , or you could use separated AUX mixes with single channel amplifiers like the Behringer P2 or P1 and send each musician his or her own mix . You could also allow musicians to share mixes in groups of 4 using a Mackie HM-400 or HM-4 ( 4-channel options ). Behringer , PreSonus , and ART also have affordable 4-channel options like the Behringer AMP800 , the ART HeadAmp4 , and the PreSonus HP4 .
Training student bands to use a click track is preparing them to eventually move up to the main worship platform … so , what ’ s the easiest way to add a click track to the students without having to add another computer ? Great question . I ’ ve mentioned in several articles the iPad or iPhone app , AutoPad . This app is inexpensive , and it creates a fantastic drone and can be setup in setlists with a click option . The Loop Community Prime app is also a quick
