And I ’ m like , you can mess up a Christmas album real quick , man . And there are so many great Christmas albums , and I ’ m like , I don ’ t wanna be more noise out there . And so , it took a long time for me to get to do it .
And here ’ s what happened , and this is crazy , but we ’ ve been remodeling this house in Atlanta , Georgia and we got to knock on the door . It ’ s a real contemporary , modern situation , as you can see . The studio ’ s a reflection of what the rest of the house is . Very playful , but very modern . And we get a knock on the door and it ’ s these people from a large movie franchise that shall not be named yet because the movie ’ s not out yet . But they ’ re like , “ Hey , we are shooting a Christmas special and we ’ d love to use your house in this superhero movie situation .” We ’ re like , “ Wait , what ?”. And they ’ re like , “ Yeah , we want to have your house in this movie , and somebody ... one of the characters is going to live there and then the superheroes are going to come over ”. And I ’ m like , “ This is absolutely wonderful . Yes , please , you can have our home . This is wonderful . Are you going to blow this stuff up ?”. And they ’ re like , “ Probably ”. We ’ re like , “ Yes , this is wonderful ”.
And so before we knew it though , man , we were in Christmastown in August , this is August . We were like , our lawn , I ’ m pretty sure we had all of the inflatable Christmas things that are made . It was like Christmas puked in our front yard . And then inside , due to it being a superhero movie or special , we had Christmas trees , there ’ s a Christmas tree . And of course , the only reason a Christmas tree exists in a Christmas movie is to be completely destroyed . And so this one , there ’ s going to be a fight scene and this Christmas tree is going to just get annihilated . So they had stunt Christmas trees . I ’ m talking , this is no exaggeration , we had close to 20 , fully decorated Christmas trees in our house just to be like , as soon as that one ’ s destroyed , they bring in the next . And so , they were storing them in our bedroom , and literally every morning I would wake up in a forest of Christmas . And I ’ m like , if there ’ s any year that I can do a Christmas album and feel it ’ s legitimate and authentic , it ’ s this year .
[ WM ] Wow !
[ Crowder ] So we just had Christmas throw up in our house and on our lawn , and I ’ m like , “ I ’ ve got to contribute . I ’ ve got to say my piece , too .”
So , I was feeling festive in the middle of the hot Atlanta summer and that ’ s how we got a Milk & Cookies album out of it .
[ WM ] Well , right on . Shifting gears from the record ’ s nostalgic opening , you go right into a really uplifting country tune with “ Thanks Giver ”. And it ’ s got a great electric guitar part running through it , the whole song . Thank you for bringing guitar solos back to Christian music !
