backup systems , termed Uninterruptible Power Supplies ( UPS ) deliver clean power from the battery to the console and use their AC connection as a charging system for the battery . This design is superior to switch-over models with continuous AC fed power that rolls overs to battery power when the power goes out because the switch over can cause problems in the desk . Also , it does little for the console to be backed up if the stage boxes aren ’ t , meaning either they need their own UPS , or their power must be derived from the console UPS .
Live sound is performing high-wire acrobatics without a safety net since live happens in real time with no “ re-do ” function . But , it is also immediate and visceral and , in the case of worship , eternally impactful .
