Positive Grid has released their latest amplifier offering . Worship Musician was pleased to receive one of the new Spark Go amps for review and putting it through the passes has been fun . First off , don ’ t let the size of this mini amplifier fool you , it is loud for its 5-Watt Class D power source .
Before we began playing music and guitars through the Spark GO , we charged it with the provided USB-C charging cable . The package also includes a reversible duo-tone strap , woven grille , hardshell grille removable protective sleeve and a quick start guide .
For those of that are old enough to remember vintage 70 ’ s Kodak cameras the size of the Spark GO is comparative . The casing is a comfortable rubberized shell , and the power / Bluetooth button is on the right side of the 1 / 8 ” inch headphone / earbuds plug in . Your guitar plugs into the top of amplifier right in the middle of the large volume knob . The amp is fully charged after only 2 hours of being plugged in .
Pairing to Bluetooth was simple and the sound quality was surprisingly full . The best time was had playing jam tracks through the Spark GO and jamming to them on guitar . The most powerful part of the Spark GO is that it pairs with the Spark App delivering full access to the Positive Grid virtual amplifiers and effects . That means over 50,000 tones are available through the ToneCloud community and library and it has AI-powered Smart Jam .
Connectivity to the Spark App is through iOS , iPadOS and of course Android . Auto Chords provides the ability to learn songs fast and easy as well . Spark GO already comes loaded with 43 effects and 33 amplifiers and four tones can be saved to your presets on top . The side strap on the amplifier isn ’ t only for carrying but also to attach it to your guitar strap so you can walk around freely with your guitar and Spark GO attached !
