Once again , I ’ ll start with the stunning looks . For most players , the fall in love moment starts ( and continues ) each time you open the case . Also available in Daphne Blue or a three-tone Sunburst , the combination of the gloss black finish , four-ply tortoise shell pick guard , and Rosewood neck is simply stunning .
This bass also delivers all the things I love about the feel , tone , and consistency up and down the neck of my much beloved ( and now discontinued ) American Originals ‘ 60s Precision Bass . When playing with the volume and tone controls all the way up , this instrument does a great job of ‘ hearing ’ the nuanced treble attack when playing with the very tips of the fingers . Placing more of the finger into the strings delivers that classic P-Bass midrangecentric tone that has just the right amount of bass and treble to sit perfectly in the mix , be it plucking , picking , slapping , or using a muted thumb .
