While we ’ ve been able to pretty drastically reduce the complexity of working in those softwares we ’ ve also observed some very common sticking points that affect the average worship team .
As far back as six years ago we started taking notes on what a built-from-scratch application would need to be able to do to offer a streamlined experience designed specifically for worship keys players .
Most churches have the same problems with their keys rigs . Hardware won ’ t play nice together , sound quality is lacking , or they ’ re finding it takes way longer to prepare their setlist each week than they have time for .
The Sunday Keys App solves those problems and a lot more .
[ WM ] For now at least , the App is only available on iPads . Why did you decide to focus on the iPad for the App . Can a church really trust an iPad to handle all of this on stage ?
[ David ] That ’ s a great question and a big part of the reason why we ’ re releasing this new app now . Up until the last few years I would have said , “ No , that iPads weren ’ t up to the task of delivering this kind of performance on stage .” But today these devices are incredibly powerful , some just as powerful as laptops . We ’ re incredibly confident in the way we ’ ve programmed the App to be as lean and efficient as possible so it can deliver reliable , consistent performance when you ’ re on stage .
We decided to start with the iPad for several reasons . A new or used iPad fits into the church budget a lot more easily than a maxed-out MacBook Pro , for one . We also wanted to take advantage of the touchscreen to provide an incredibly intuitive , visual interface that even a first-time volunteer will be able to understand right away .
That means you ’ re able to know exactly where you ’ re at in your setlist , which Sounds you have available , and what ’ s next at just a glance .
[ WM ] If someone had no idea where to start , how would you walk them through the process ?
[ David ] All you need to get started is a relatively new iPad , any hardware keyboard or MIDI controller , and a USB hub to get everything connected together . We have specific recommendations for all of that if people need it .
Once you download the App you ’ re able to start planning out your worship Setlists right away . The App lets you choose from ready to play Patches designed to cover any worship song or get creative and pick the individual Sounds you want to use to create Patches that do exactly what you want them to .
You can layer multiple Sounds together or split
