my solo records , that one is probably the most tender and dear to my heart because of what that record represents to me .
“ Still Believe ” is also one of the first songs that I ever wrote pretty much fully on my own and has always been such a prayer for me , personally . That ' s on there . That was another one people were really excited to hear . Then also , I recorded “ Nothing Else ”, which is a Cody Carnes ' s song . I love that song !
It ' s one of those songs I say , " I wish I wrote this song . It ' s so good . I love singing it . I love worshiping with it every night when we ' ve done this song . It ' s always one that everyone really engages with right away . It ' s a song I think that ' s also pretty simple to catch hold of and to sing along , and engage .
It ' s good . I love that song . Cody ' s so sweet . Cody had sent me a message saying he was so excited that I recorded it and he let everyone know when it came out that we had done it . It was really sweet . Loved it .
[ WM ] Can we turn to a touring question ? We understand you have a relationship with DPA Microphones . Please tell us about those mics and why you like them ?
[ Kim ] I love my DPA Microphone ! I gave it a little test run out on a tour a couple of years ago . The first thing I noticed was how well it picked up the fluctuations in my voice . For example , I have a lot of songs with a very wide range . I ' ll sing or start the song down really low , which in order to have good pitch control , I softened my voice , and the volume of my voice .
Then , I jumped up really high and really loud in the bigger range . This microphone somehow catches it all . It does such a good job of picking up the subtle changes in my tone and my voice . I hear my voice clearly when it ' s soft , and clearly when it ' s loud , there ' s never any weird distortions .
Also , I ' m someone who , I work the microphone a little bit , meaning I ' ll back away from it when I know my voice is getting bigger or louder . I
