Next in keeping with a vintage viewpoint here I plugged the Road Worn into my late 60’ s Gibson Falcon amp with built-in reverb and tremolo. This was fun. I played the same riff and moved around in all three pick-up positions. Each one was totally different than the other – the notes were articulate and to be honest – I was having a hard time deciding which one I liked best. The bridge position was spanky and not brittle, the neck was full and the in-between position sat nicely – well – in between the two.
pick-ups did deliver Fender’ s claim of having a crystal-clear chime and raw, steely twang that made Fender famous.
