WORSHIP LEADERS
THE SUNDAYS AFTER EASTER: NOW WHAT? | Matt Miller

Easter’ s over.
You probably had one of those moments— standing in the back of the room, or in the lobby— thinking,“ Alright … that actually went really well.”
Or at least,“ We survived.” Either way, you made it.
And now it’ s mid-April, which always feels a little strange to me.
Because everything leading up to Easter has weight. Urgency. Energy. And then the next Sunday shows up … and it just feels like a normal Sunday again.
No big push. No massive attendance spike. No extra rehearsals. Just … back to it.
And honestly, this is where a lot of us miss something important.
DON’ T MOVE ON TOO FAST If you’ re like me, your instinct is to keep things moving.
There’ s always another service to plan. Another set to build. Another email to send.
But if you don’ t slow down for a minute and look back, you’ ll miss what Easter actually revealed about your team.
Not just how it sounded— but how it felt. Where things were smooth. Where things felt off. Where people stepped up. Where things got a little … tense.
You don’ t need a formal meeting with an agenda and bullet points. Just grab your MD. Maybe your tech lead.
Have a conversation.“ Hey— what worked?”“ What didn’ t feel great?”“ What do we fix before next time?”
That kind of clarity is gold— and it fades fast if you don’ t capture it.
SAY SOMETHING( BECAUSE THEY’ RE WONDERING) Your team just gave a lot. More time than usual. More focus. More flexibility- especially if you’ re the type to tweak things midweek( no judgment).
And here’ s what I’ ve learned the hard way: If you don’ t say something, they’ ll still feel it … just not in a good way.
They don’ t need a speech. They don’ t need a gift card( though nobody’ s mad about that). They just need to know you noticed.
