Passion is something I’ ll never forget. He is worthy of it all!
[ JJ Hasulube ] One thing I love about leading“ The Blood” is that it encourages you to take ownership of your new identity in Christ. The harsh reality is that before Jesus, we were his enemies, walking in opposition to him. But by His blood He’ s turned us into His friends. Not only that but we have been cleansed and made blameless before the Father. The person we once were is dead, and we live in the new reality of sonship with God!
[ WM ] And you had some“ guests” with you this time around. Please tell us about who joined in and how that all went?
[ Kristian ] We are so thankful to have many great friends join us on this album. Brooke Ligertwood, Cody and Kari Carnes, KB … this feels more like family now as we have shared so many moments and so much life together. And it’ s been exciting to see many new and fresh voices stepping up to lead over the last few years. JJ Hasalube, Rachel Halbach, Landon Wolfe, Chidima … these are worship leaders who have been faithfully and humbly serving at our church who God has clearly anointed and gifted to lead a generation to worship Jesus. It’ s very special for Crowder, Brett Younker, Melodie Malone, and myself to have the opportunity to make space for these new leaders and walk alongside them. And speaking of Crowder … what a legend. There’ s no one like him. We are all thankful for his many years of creativity, humility, and trailblazing spirit that has called us all up to more.
[ Brett ] Yeah, we love having multiple voices in the mix. It’ s so inspiring to hear the uniqueness in everyone › s leadership. At the same time, there is such a unity as we are all seeking to amplify the Name of Jesus.
[ WM ] You’ re going on a nationwide tour this summer! How do you feel about introducing some of these new songs to the church?
[ Kristian ] We are very excited for this summer! We’ ve already been singing these songs at Passion City Church and the response has been great. We can’ t wait to share the songs with more of the Church all over the country. We pray when people hear and sing these songs, they will get a revelation of Jesus and understand His great love for them. What a great time we’ re living in! Such a hunger to worship God and gather with the Church. We’ re looking forward to seeing all that the Lord has in store for us this year. It’ s sure to be a wild and exhilarating ride!
