the Hebrews stacked up. I think the reminder is really important for the church because without remembering we lose access to His power. We lose all kinds of stuff. It’ s so important.
[ Taya ] I love that. And so many times in the Old Testament, like you said, anytime God did something mighty and great in their midst, they build an altar. And a lot of the times there was a big journey where they were in the wilderness, there were a lot of altars in the wilderness. And anyone that would be sojourning through the area would come upon that and they would be reminded of that, and they would be reminded of God’ s faithfulness. And again, we’ re human just like the Israelites. We need the reminders of God’ s faithfulness because we forget so easily! We can forget when we go through hardship because we’ re looking at the hardship and we’ ve forgotten the faithfulness of God behind us. When things are really good, we can also forget everything that God has brought us through because we are so focused on the good things that he’ s actually given us. And sometimes unfortunately, we become enamored with that forgetting. This actually all came through your mighty, mighty hand, and we just need to be grateful to the Giver as my friend Matt Maher says and thank Him for all the gifts that He’ s given and be enamored with the Giver instead.
alarm clock now and his name is Bo, our son, and he’ s the best alarm clock. I don’ t want to be too busy. And that’ s probably been my challenge in the busyness of releasing a record and the fullness of everything that comes along with that.
We’ re just going to be a big family on a tour bus. This is my first U. S. headline tour, so there’ s a lot riding on this. But what’ s really fun is I felt like the Lord has been simplifying in my heart what these nights are. And if we just lift Jesus up and we come into agreement with what God says about His son, and we enter into this eternal song that’ s already been going on, something beautiful is going to happen. If we keep it simple in that regard, I think it’ s going to be pretty powerful and amazing. A lot of prayers are going into this and it’ s coming up so quickly.
[ WM ] Taya, I just want to say thank you so much for this time and God bless you and be with you on this tour. May He grant you traveling mercies, an umbrella of protection and give you a form of godliness and the power thereof. And I really appreciated your backstory. That meant a lot to me. So, thank you so much.
[ Taya ] You’ re so kind. Thank you as well, Alex. And again, time is so precious. I am grateful that we got this time together that we got to talk about Jesus. I love anytime we do. So, I believe He leans in and He’ s near and it’ s edifying because we’ re obviously talking about Him and He’ s the Word made flesh and the best meal we could ever have. It’ s awesome.

[ WM ] Yes, and Amen to all of that. I’ ve got one more question. You’ ve got quite a tour schedule lined up. And as a vocal artist and worship leader, your giftings are more than singing and playing piano. Your giftings are also about communication. How do you prepare for the task?
One and Only
[ Taya ] I’ m in the presence of God. It’ s everything. I don’ t want to stand anywhere on a platform, or in a conversation without first inquiring of the Lord. It is a seemingly rather big task at hand, but I love that I’ m to do so in surrender. I’ m to do so constantly in communion with God through the Holy Spirit. But I think it is just putting myself in His presence, getting up early, setting time aside. We have a regular Worship!
