relax, to not stress and strive. When you look at eagles soaring, there’ s an ease and there’ s a beauty to it. They get to see things from a higher vantage point. And what’ s beautiful is when I started researching about eagles, no one knows how they have the ability to catch the convection currents that allow them to rise. It’ s just the fact that they do. No one knows what part of their nature, or their body enable them to do so. But just that they do. And later in my devotional that same day, it was crazy how it had all lined up that it was taken from Matthew 6, it was Oswald Chambers’ s My Utmost for his Highest.
And the first line said,“ Look at the birds of the air”. So, I knew I was on the right track if that’ s what my eye had really been drawn to in the moment. And it was talking about trusting God for provision, for food, for clothing, and then even the reality, how much more does your heavenly Father … if he will look after the birds of the air and the flowers of the field( and not every flower is ever seen by a human). It’ s here one day and gone the next. And yet how much more does your heavenly Father know what you need before you ask? How much more will he provide?
I had so many questions of who to write with, who would produce the album. I didn’ t have any answers. And so then started to unfold a wild year unbeknownst to me at the time when I heard the Holy Spirit drop that in my heart. I was pregnant with our first baby and we had all these tours lined up for that year and I didn’ t even know if you could tour whilst pregnant, but we were going to give it a good hot crack. We’ d said yes, and the Lord’ s timing is perfect, we believe, and we hadn’ t sensed a pause when our son came along to stop doing what we were doing.
We just were trying to continue to be obedient in that regard and trust that God would anoint us for it as a family. And then we just sensed the Lord leading us out of our church in Sydney that we had been a part of for 12 to 13 years. There were a lot of questions, a lot of grieving, a lot of joy and grief in the same hand and learning how to carry both at the same time. There were major things going on. And personally, along with all of this, we didn’ t have management, which is just a wild ride.
The Lord’ s been kind in bringing us around the right people and bringing the right people around us in this season, we have found a beautiful local church here in southern California with incredible shepherds.
The ability to be sent out is such a beautiful thing. And to know people are praying for you is just such a gift and is the way that God intended it to be. Don’ t forsake the gathering together of the saints. It’ s been incredibly beautiful.
[ WM ] There are many layers to the foundation of this album, which is wonderful! That’ s the way it should be.
[ Taya ] This record is also a bridging record. The next album is going to be a live worship album. I’ m really excited about that as well. God gave us songs on this record that I feel like I didn’ t have on the first one. I call them tools in my worship leader tool belt- songs to pull out at the right moment in certain gatherings and
