creativity and brand and think that would be cool .
[ WM ] Outline your live rig on stage for us . Guitars , amps , pedalboard ?
[ Emily ] I have a few different setups depending on the event , but I typically use my Novo Serus J , a Universal Audio Ruby + Walrus Audio Canvas / DISO + for a direct in solution , or an AC30 + Tyler HM15 for amps . I ’ ve scaled my pedalboard down a good bit lately and use a Jackson Audio Bloom Compressor , Lehle Volume S , Pirate MIDI Bridge 6 , Timmy , Scarlet Love v3 , Walrus Audio Julianna Chorus , and a GFI Specular Tempus for delay + reverb . Everything packs nicely in a Pelican Air 1530 case , and that makes my life a lot easier !
[ WM ] What was the experience like supporting the Women Who Worship project with your guitar playing ?
[ Emily ] The whole night was special ! I love that we had the opportunity to create and worship alongside other women , and I think we built something memorable and meaningful in a way we never expected . I prepared by listening to the demos and came up with some part ideas at home , but I also wanted to be openhanded and willing to tweak those ideas with everyone . As we got more comfortable playing with each other , it was easy to take everyone ’ s ideas and plug them in where they made sense .
Listening back , I was so proud of all of us , and I ’ m so grateful to have played a part in such an impactful night .
[ WM ] Words of encouragement or advice for other female worship team guitar players ?
[ Emily ] Keep playing ! While it may feel like you ’ re out of place sometimes in a band of guys , I always remind myself that God had allowed me to worship Him through my gift in a way that is unique to me . No one else can bring exactly what I have to offer , and it ’ s such a gift to serve God and His people . I ’ m so glad that I stuck with it and am thankful that I ’ m able to worship God through the art of making music that ’ s glorifying and honoring to Him .
