if he decided to turn it that direction?” That’s
something that worship leaders, we always
think congregation and the Lord and here we
go, but Levites worked on behalf of an entire
nation of Israel, not just whoever was at their
synagogue, but the bridge between God and
man, man and God, as their worship leaders of
that day for an entire country. It’s disappointing
that someone’s right to live has even become
a social issue. It shouldn’t even be an issue.
I’m really grateful for what that songs done, I
had no motive, there was no thought when I
was writing it that I was going to be playing it
in Times Square later that year, or in a room full
of senators and congressmen, it’s just crazy to
see what it’s done and I’m really grateful that
God’s used it like that. Some of the stories that
I’ve heard have just been crazy about how it’s
changed people’s hearts, and how people have
been moved to adopt or not have an abortion.
[WM] Your newest release, All Glory, is
released through Gateway Worship, and is a
full-length project recorded live at CFNI just this
past November. What an exceptional venue to
record! Having worked at CFNI for five years I
can truly say that those students are sold out for
Christ, and the unique and intriguing dynamic
of it all is the heavy populous of international
students. Tell us about the recording and your
work there with the students?
[Phil] Oh, it was a dream come true. As
soon as Gateway talked about or brought up
the idea of doing a live record that was one
of the first things I asked, “Can I do this at
CFNI?” Many of us at Gateway, especially in
the worship department, came from CFNI, and
it’s just really a place in Texas, and really the
world in general. It was a beautiful night to see
all of these streams in the body of Christ come
