Beyond using templates to make your plan-to-
plan work more efficient, there’s another detail
you can build into your weekly plans that I’ve
found helpful. Much simpler to implement than
the template process I just described, but very
helpful for your musicians who view the plan. It’s
proven helpful to include a BPM marking. For
those of you not familiar with the abbreviation,
BPM stands for Beats Per Minute. It’s the
metronome marking for the song. Including this
on your plans is helpful for players who might
want to program delays or other effects into the

gear before rehearsals or services. The BPM
number is entered into the detail screen for an
arrangement. (#4)
By the way, this BPM marking will also appear
at the top of your chord chart for the song.

length of a song in minutes and seconds. Why
not enter this info here so you’re not having
to enter a song length in your plan itself? Just
another step saved.
