something different than we planned? On a practical level, most live services, including ours, operate using a brief broadcast delay ranging from 30 seconds to a couple of minutes. As long as the campuses stay behind the broadcast campus sermon start time, they can actually bring in the sermon feed at the right time. As a backup, they may have to bring in the sermon from earlier in the day or even Saturday night. And if the live feed and backups all fail, each campus pastor has the sermon notes and is prepared to take it. [WM] Can you give an example of how simplifying and making everything more accessible for your volunteers is producing a significant difference in procedure or technology? [Rick] We’re doing a major change shift right now. For years we’ve used Stream Monkey to broadcast content to the campuses. Understand that some of our campuses are mobile, some are permanent installs, and the infrastructure varies at each location. So optimizing how we broadcast for one location may hinder another location or decrease reliability. Additionally, the way we’re cueing up the stream for playback at the campuses is a little cumbersome for volunteers on our current equipment. So, while Stream Monkey is great, for our specific application we’re switching to a stream delivery system called Living As One.
