a good understanding of how the drums
(especially the kick drum) and bass work
together. In these examples, you’ll note that
they’re generally playing similar figures with
a couple of areas where they deviate. Those
deviations help keep things from sounding too
worked out or rigid.
Once
again,
experiment
with
phrasing
options—particularly with note duration. You
can get a lot of mileage from just these grooves
and the four we covered last time!
