but not boomy low end, with a top end that is
defined without being overly present.
ELECTRONICS
While I love Jazz basses, the P-Bass is ‘home
for me’. One pickup, one volume, and one
tone make it easy to find the sweet spot both
in terms of volume and tone. The Pure Vintage
'63 Split Single-Coil Precision Bass pickups
do a great job of capturing the essence of this
instrument.
THE WRAP
Fender hit all the marks with this one in that it
looks, feels, and sounds like a vintage Fender
P-Bass built today. Truth be told, there are
some great vintage instruments out there, but
manufacturing has come a long way since
the sixties, and consistency from instrument
to instrument being one of the biggest
improvements. While the price tag might be
steep for some folks’ budget, this is a whole
lotta bass that in my opinion delivers all the
goods.
