know them because I’m from Houston. I would see Marcos at Lakewood when I started playing there on Sundays. We did some tours together with a different artist. I started traveling with this other artist, Coalo Zamorano (who is his son-in-law), so you know they’re family. I would see Marcos around. To have the chance to produce his new single for me was just a huge deal because I’m just a big personal fan of who he is and his songs. Then on social media he was super cool with it, his drummer did a track too, and he did the drums, and we put that out on social media as well. For me it’s just a huge honor to be able to work with him. [WM] Making the jump from a guitar player to a Dove-winning producer doesn’t happen overnight. Can you chart that path? mine. His name is Emmanuel Espinosa, and our industry. I got the chance to meet him a he was in a band called Rojo. Rojo was one of while back when I did some stuff at Lakewood. [Chris] My Dad is actually the one who started the top selling bands, and they were in the top The thing is, CanZion, which is his company, is me off into music, and I owe a whole lot of what of the charts for years. They stopped playing, based out of Houston. So, a lot of the people I do to what he did in my life. He’s been the but now they’re back together. He’s produced that work on his records, I got a chance to biggest influence on me. I never got a chance to some of the biggest (Latin) artists like Marcos Witt, and all of the Rojo stuff, so I’m kind of a fan of his. He’s an amazing producer and an amazing bass player, just wonderful. So, he started Anmiek and they do basses and guitars. He reached out to me a while back and sent me some guitars to demo out. I believe in him and believe in his company, so I’ve used a lot of their guitars in the productions that I do, and sometimes when I tour with a band I’ll take one of their guitars with me. He is based in the States, but I believe they are made in Korea. I believe in him and I believe in his company, that’s why I play them, they sound great. [WM] You also have a connection to Marcos Witt. I saw the video of you playing slide guitar on one of his singles. How did you guys get connected? [Chris] It’s kind of hard to be in the Latin world to not know who Marcos Witt is, and not have sung his songs in church.
