WV18 NF: STEFANIE HEINZMANN

Pop/soul singer Stefanie Heinzmann recently became a judge on the Swiss version of the reality show "The Voice". After the success of Robert Miles in Liverpool, she was inspired to take part in WorldVision when it was announced that the WV18 Swiss national final would be an all female affair in an attempt to balance out the male and female entries. Submitting her most recent song "Diggin' In The Dirt", she aspired to shine on the WorldVision stage in London.
Performing fifth in the national final, she gave the fans a thrill with her energy and her powerful voice, her backing band and the visual effects enhancing the performance all the way through. It was certainly a contender for the ticket to WV18 to fulfill Stefanie's aspiration.
The voting proved to be tighter than ever, with the lead changing hands so many times between the top 3 of Stefanie, current German Idol winner Beatrice Egli (who had tried her hand at the WV16 national final), and former WorldVision and Eurovision participant Anna Rossinelli. There were several ties at some points, and after the last vote cast, Stefanie finished second behind Anna, who would be going to WorldVision for the second time, the first being WV04 in Uppsala with her song "Joker".
"Anyone from that top 3 could have taken it," she said after the final, and was ecstatic when Swiss Sounds revealed she would be taking part in the WV19 Second Chances final. "I now have the only English-language song in the second chances final, and now I want to finish what I started. I hope to give the fans and the juries voting a performance they'll never forget."
Let's see if she can move that one step up the ladder.
