Ginza sells, almost exactly like 40 years ago, a wide assortment of music, games, movies and a lot more with the customer in the centre. Worldkustom got an interview with the founder Hasse Haraldsson.

Is MP3 The Thing or..?

When everybody else stopped selling CD’s Hasse chose another route. He started Ginza in the end of the sixties, has observed the market and adjusted his company after the business tosses and turns. Today he’s online store www.ginza.se looks like this:

Today he is an institution in the music business with his successful mail-order company in Nossebro, Västergötland. The development from starting off in a garage in Fåglum to 60 employees and a turnover of $23 million is remarkable. So is he just swimming in it by now, taking it cool? No, not at all.

At Bilsport Custom and Motor Show he stands like anyone of us mortal people and services new generations. Wonder how many that purchase a record by his display case and receives it in a bag from Hasse knows about his experience, his knowledge and ability to top most everything in the music business.

– As we celebrated our 45th anniversary we decided to push the physical products in our store, Hasse says and show plate boxes with collection albums in retro style and other vintage products.

Hard Rock fans are by tradition reliable hardware consumers and therefore demand vinyl and CD. Rockabilly listeners and rock-and-rollers are other groups big on the physical Record. Movies, games and other

books are other parts of the big company that people in general maybe don’t immediately associate with Ginza Musik AB.
