World War II ( The Grear Patriotic War) in Russia | Page 7
"Come and See".
I would like to tell about one film which was made in 1985 and was
devoted to the Great Patriotic War. This movie is called, "Come and See".
It is dedicated to the events in Belarus in the village of Khatyn in 1943. The
Nazis rampaged in places at all times of occupation: murdered the
inhabitants, robbed them, deported them to Germany to work. On March
22, 1943 several platoons German troops were killed by partisans. The
Germans sent in pursuit of partisans superior forces. On road they stopped
chasing partisans, but as punishment in the village of Khatyn herded all the
population in a barn and burned alive 149 people, including 75 children.
Later this episode pushed directed by Elem Klimov to make this film.
Although in this movie we can not see killing, but I think it's the most terrible
film about the war.
